Legionowo Poviat

Legionowo Poviat is situated in the central part of the Mazowiecka Lowland, in the Warszawska Basin, mainly between Vistula and Narew rivers’ junctions. The county covers an area of 39.278 ha and is inhabited by 96,000 people. To the Legionowo county, created as a result of the administration reform of the country on the 1st of January 1999, we include: Legionowo town – commune, Serock town – village commune and three village communes: Wieliszew, Jabłonna and Nieporęt. 

The main attraction of the Poviat is the Zegrzyńskie Lake. It is mainly a place for recreation and a paradise for anglers. Every year on the bay is organized several racing competition, in which the best Polish seamen participate in. The significant part of the Powiat is included in the Warsaw Area of Protected Landscape. 

The economy of the county is mainly characterized by presence of a small and medium companies acting in a sector of services. Taking measures by the local authorities to support the local business it is also worth to mention that in 2001 Economical Chamber has been appointed. Now, this self governmental organization comprises of 100 companies from various branches. Legionowo Poviat is very popular among national and foreign investors. Its headquarters here have international nutritive concerns and companies with foreign capital.
